Back in London town

Our EcoTeams road show has travelled north to Leeds and west to Bristol, but thanks to all your requests, in November we were back in London.

As usual it was a great day, and seeing so many people chatting about climate change and what they could do made us really excited about what we can all achieve by working together. As ever the day was packed with inspiring, practical ideas on how to recruit and run EcoTeams.

A special guest speaker

Dan Vockins, from the brilliant 10:10 campaign (www.1010uk.org) also came along and gave a rousing talk on the importance of participating in initiatives like EcoTeams to really and truly achieve the 10:10 target of cutting emissions by 10% in 2010. Together we’ll make it.

Brimming with enthusiasm

Happily we welcomed the most diverse - and quite possibly most enthusiastic - group of people to date.

Very helpful. I feel ready to start my first EcoTeam! Attendee, London

Men and women of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and levels of environmental engagement came from across the Greater London area and beyond, to find out what they could do - by working together with friends, workmates and neighbours - to reduce their carbon emissions. And they came bright and early on Saturday morning, too! We can't wait to see all the resulting EcoTeams set up and in action.

Couldn't make it? Watch our video

For those of you who weren’t there, you can watch one of the attendees chatting about the day and what she’ll do next.

All of us at Global Action Plan are looking forward to the next event. We plan to run a series across the country over the coming months, so keep checking the EcoTeams website for more details, or read more about how to set up your own team.
