A big success with our first EcoTeams training event

Kicking off with an inspirational introduction by Trewin Restorick, CEO of Global Action Plan (the charity behind EcoTeams), the day was packed with information and advice, together with plenty of help and ideas on how to recruit and run an EcoTeam.

Fun and interactive

Delegates learned more about the programme and results usually achieved by households taking part. Getting together in small, facilitated groups, delegates found out about EcoTeams through a series of interactive games and activities. They learned how an EcoTeam meeting works, used environmental icebreakers to get to know each other, and ordered a range of appliances according to their energy use.

How to recruit a team

After lunch recruiting EcoTeam members was the central topic. Delegates thought about ways to encourage people to join EcoTeams. Ideas were collected on flipcharts and discussed at tables. Delegates came up with a range of brilliant ideas:
